How many people can stay?+
Up to 6 guests, of whom at most 4 adults. Children up to and including 14 may be the fifth and sixth guest.
Is there a cot and a high chair?+
Yes, on request only and at €25 per set. It is a travel cot measuring 60 by 120 centimetres; please bring your own bedding for it. Mention it with your enquiry and it will be ready when you arrive.
Are pets welcome?+
One dog is welcome, please mention it in your request. We ask you to rinse the dog off when it comes back from the woods, keep it out of the bedrooms and off beds and sofas, and treat the furnishings with care. There is a tap with a hose outside.
How does the wood-fired hot tub work?+
You fill and heat it yourself; wood is ready for you. Heating takes two to three hours. You fill it with fresh tap water before each use and drain it afterwards. Only clean water goes in, so no chemicals and no bath oil. The full guide with the safety rules is on the Guides page.
Is linen included?+
Yes, bed, bath and kitchen linen are included. Beds are made up on arrival.
What are the check-in and check-out times?+
Check-in between 16:00 and 21:00, check-out between 08:00 and 11:00. A few days before you arrive we'll email you the code for the key safe, so you can let yourself in even if you arrive late in the evening.
Is there wifi or a TV?+
No to both, and that is deliberate. The cabin is meant to be properly screen-free: birdsong, a book, the fire. If you need to work while away, do bear that in mind.
How does payment work?+
After your request we confirm availability and you receive an invoice with a secure payment link.
Can I cancel?+
Yes. Up to 42 days before arrival you get 70% back, up to 28 days 40%, after that 10%. No refund on the arrival day itself.
Is smoking allowed?+
Not inside. Outside, please be mindful of the forest and the neighbours.
How do I light the wood stove?+
Open the air intake, lay small dry sticks crosswise, add a firelighter and let it build calmly. The step by step guide is on the Guides page.
What should I do when checking out?+
Strip the beds, towels in the laundry basket, thermostat to 12 degrees, lights off, fire fully out and the key back in the safe. The full list is on the Guides page.
Is there a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher?+
Yes. The cabin has a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher, plus smoke alarms. Good to know when lighting a fire or using the hot tub. If you use something from the kit or the extinguisher, please let us know so we can refill it.
Do I pay a deposit?+
No, we don't ask for a deposit. We trust you to leave the cabin tidy and to report any damage or fault. Damage caused by you or your party may be recovered from you, even when you report it; small mishaps we do not charge for. If you don't report something and we find it after you leave, the repair costs are yours regardless. This is also in the house rules.
